A Canadian company with a history dating back to 1876, Jakeman's is rich with experience and tradition. The 4th generation owners Bob and Mary Jakeman have instilled their family values down the line to their adult children and together the family produces consistent Top of the Line Maple Syrup products batch after batch - year after year. They have developed a standard that only produces Grade A levels.
Before purchasing the range, I travelled to their farm in Ontario to view their processes in person and get a feel for the company and more importantly the family and when I asked them why they did not produce a Grade B or C level (Grades 2 or 3) like their competitors they stated that since they were able to consistently produce a Grade A level, there was no reason to reduce the quality. The same processing energy and time is what is required regardless of what grade is produced. Those producers who make mistakes on their processing sell the lower grades.
